I received a free copy of Ifechidere in exchange for an honest review.
Initially I was hit by just how brutal the plot of Ifechidere was, and this continued throughout the book from the way Ifechidere’s Aunt and Uncle treated her, to the deaths at the end. Brutal and heart wrenching, I felt an honest emotional tug which doesn’t happen to me very often. So that was definitely a positive for me.
Unfortunately, I didn’t think the plot flowed very well. The book seemed like a lot of random or semi-random events linked together by the characters involved. I found this a bit disappointing.
The glossary at the back of the book was very helpful, I wish I’d known it was there sooner.
Overall, slightly disappointing, but a thought provoking read.
