Synopsis:

“Bryant Williams lives for his family. But when a tragic sailing adventure strands them on an island of people exploited by a demented tyrant, living will be the least that is required.

TRIBAL is an exciting, fast-paced thriller packed into the pages of a short novel.”

Rating: ****

I received a copy of Tribal from the author in exchange for a review.

Loved the opening chapter(s) introducing the reader to the family. Their interactions and dialogue were so authentic, immediately making the characters relatable.

I enjoyed Tribal, it was fast paced with a solid core group of characters who reacted differently to the various developments. The one aspect that I did find irritating was the way new characters were introduced. This always followed the same format “Name, age…” I didn’t think the reader needed to know the ages of all the characters (particularly the minor ones), this felt clunky and formulaic. Despite this, I would definitely read other works by Robert Everhart.

I would recommend Tribal to readers who enjoy the stranded on a desert island genre of novels, or who prefer to read short, snappy stories as this is definitely one!
