Review Policy

  • If you would like to request a review, contact Russell The Bookworm through the ‘Get in Touch’ form or email directly to mel.russ89@gmail.com. In your message please include your name/author’s name (and your relationship to the author if you are enquiring on their behalf or representing them), the title and genre of the book and a brief synopsis. I will respond to your email within 5 working days providing a realistic timeframe of when you could expect a review to be published. If this is convenient after discussion, the book will then be added to the review list.

  • If I am unable to publish a review within the agreed timeframe, I will let the author know at the earliest opportunity.

  • I accept books for review in PDF format, but other digital formats may be considered on an individual basis with discussion and agreement. In rare

cases I may accept physical copies of review books, but these are on an individual basis with discussion and agreement.

  • Once a review has been posted online the digital review copy is deleted/destroyed.

  • Reviews are posted to Goodreads, Amazon UK, Amazon US and Russell The Bookworm’s site. Any other locations can be discussed on an individual basis.

  • I review both fiction and non-fiction titles in a variety of genres. The only exception being romance. If I do not feel able to give an impartial, fair review due to the subject matter of the book, I will inform of this in an initial email.

  • I offer reviews free of charge which focus on all aspects of the book including (but not limited to) writing style, spelling, punctuation, grammar, layout and other editing issues, content, theme and character development. Reviews I write are always honest and offer constructive criticism if necessary.

  • If you have an issue or query with a review I have posted of your work (or of an author you represent), please get in touch using the ‘Get in Touch’ form or email directly to mel.russ89@gmail.com. Please do not raise an issue as a comment on the website which other visitors can see. If you do this, it will result in the comment being removed and the review may also be removed.

  • If you would like to use a quote from a review as publicity for your work, or link the review to your website, this can be discussed.
